Report 2006-49 Population and Employment Forecasts – Final Recommendations
The development of population and
employment forecasts and allocations for the Town of Caledon is being
undertaken as part of the South Albion-Bolton Community Plan. Background information, Terms of Reference
and descriptions of the Community Meetings for the South-Albion Bolton
Community Plan can be found on the page describing that project.
This page will provide information specific
to the development of population and employment forecasts and allocations. This information can also be found on the South-Albion
Bolton Community Plan page.
The Population and Employment Allocations
sub-component of the South Albion-Bolton Community Plan has generated recommendations
by Town staff and consultants. The
Study Team recommended new population and employment forecasts for the Town of
Caledon through Planning and Development Report 2006-36, which was presented to
Council on May 16, 2006. This report
recommended population and employment forecasts for the Town as a whole for the
2031 planning horizon and the allocation of these forecasts among the various
communities in Caledon. The report also
recommended the reallocation of some population from the Villages and Palgrave
Estates Residential Community to the Rural Service Centres of Bolton and
Mayfield West prior to 2021. The
Town-wide total population for 2021 of 84,444 would remain unchanged. Council authorized the scheduling of a
Public Information Meeting on June 12, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at the Caledon
Community Complex in Caledon East.
